some time back i read a quote (don't remember where) by Gandhi ji
"if i had to choose between cowardice and voilence. i'll prefer voilence over cowardice."
I m really confused that a man who always advocated non-voilence could really choose voilence.
I tried to relate different examples to this statement but could not agree or disagree with this statement.
Gandhi was trying to thwart allegation that "non violence" stems from Cowardice. He wanted to stress that non violence is a choice and is not a sign of weakness or cowardice. The place where you read this quote should have stated the context in which he said this.
ReplyDeletewell i think..gandhiji...always.wanted people to earn respect for themselves.so.. he asked people..to opt 4 non violence..(after all non vilonce is a more difficult task) and not violence....
ReplyDeletebut if we actully have to choose between violence n cowardice..it has to be..violence...
becoz..cowardice shows weakness and ur fear..which ultimately..ruins..ur respect..in the eyes ..of the world
let us understand that the concept is relative here and not absolute. given a choice between the two with no other choice in the horizon, the choice would definitly be different than the choice made amongst various options made available!
